A Boston-native and a firefighter, Nick served as a youth pastor in his hometown. A few years ago he found himself on the sandy beaches of California where he learned about Mission One Eleven. After visiting Ethiopia for the first time he knew is days on the beach were over and dove headfirst into the mission field. Given his experience in Ethiopia and his natural gift to lead, Nick will be the team’s leader for the trip.

Hometown: Lamont, CA
A jeweler by trade and a self made businessman. Eiseley began selling jewelry inside a carwash and grew into a thriving business in Lamont, California. Eiseley saw a passage in the New Testament and when Karl Hargestam came to his church he was the first in line.

Previous Job: Bio-Medical Engineer
Hometown: Bakersfield, CA
A Biomedical Engineer. Carrie graduated from one of the top universities in the United States and went to work for one of the largest Biomedical Engineering firms in the World. Even though she was making a six-figure salary and was in the top of her field, Carrie felt an immediate call to give it all up and take on this challenge.

A retired physician, Albertine is not new to traveling to Africa. She lived in Nigeria for 10 years with her family. In her mid 60’s and with 4 grown children, Albertine is the oldest member of the group.

Hometown: Bakersfield, CA
A convicted ex-felon, Jason had previously applied for this adventure but was denied by the California State Parole office because he was still on parole from San Quentin. After completing his “State Obligations” Jason applied once again and this time was eagerly accepted.

Business Attorney
Hometown: Tehachapi, CA
Attorney at law, Patrick graduated from UCLA at the top of his class and went on to Boston University to complete his law degree. Practicing Business Law at a well-known Law firm in California, Patrick decided that it wasn’t as fulfilling as he thought it would be and jumped at a chance for a new adventure.

Fashion Stylist
Hometown: Fresno, CA
One of the youngest in the group, she’s just a few years out of high school and was working as a Fashion Designer for Forever 21, it was considered her dream job. But when she heard of “Mission One Eleven” goal to reach the unreached, Linda decided to trade her dream job for God’s vision.

Hometown: Bakersfield, CA
A waitress at a national restaurant chain and a new Christian, Carmen heard about The Assignment at a college retreat. Not much is known about Carmen, and being a new Christian is probably not the ideal candidate to send into the heart of Africa, but because of her desire to go, Mission One Eleven decided to give her that chance.

UPS Worker
Hometown: Oakland, CA
A UPS worker from northern California, Jermaine recently completed Bible College with a concentration in Missions. Actually going into the mission field was too good of an opportunity to pass up and allowed Jermaine to finally put his knowledge to the test.

Hometown: Bakersfield, CA
A Barista at a local Coffee shop and occasional college student Michelle heard about the mission one elevens challenge and felt ”the call”. She immediately turned in her resignation and joined the Mission One Eleven team.

Karl Hargestam

Hometown: Storuman, Sweden
At the age of 21, Karl Hargestam left his home, Sweden, for the mandate God had given him to reach the unreached people in Africa with the Gospel.
Karl and his wife Jennifer are founders of Joshua Campaign International, a pioneer mission and evangelism movement that reaches hundreds of thousands each year and have seen more than 3 million people respond to the Gospel. In their crusades they have seen crowds over 300,000 in a single service. “The Assignment” is now leading Karl, Jennifer and their team into new, unconquered territories around the world.

Jon Slagle
Executive Producer
Hometown: San Diego, CA
Jon Slagle is an Emmy-nominated producer with over 20 years experience in producing, writing, and directing. Jon caught the vision to reach the un-reached and dedicated his entire commercial studio and resources to help people see that God can use ‘Ordinary People in Extra Ordinary’ ways.

Jean-Luc Slagle
Associate Producer
Hometown: San Diego, CA
Jean-Luc Slagle brought many of his professional and design skills to ‘The Assignment TV’ project. Jean-Luc traveled with the team to the remote regions of Ethiopia capturing the stories while enduring the same hardships as the team and when he returned, he created and designed all the graphics used in the program.
